Report – East Central Beachs

Reports ranging from Flagler Beach down to Sebastian inlet have been coming in from surf fishermen, and the theme of all the reports is consistent.   The whiting bite is hot and the bluefish are everywhere.

Reports of 10-20 whiting a day are common right now.  They are being caught on peeled shrimp, clams, sand fleas and Fish Bites.  They have been found behind the first and second breakers on all beaches.  Use a 2 hook dropper rig to find what pattern works that day.

Considered trash by some, treasure by others, the Bluefish are out in force in the Surf right now.  Any live bait, fast moving artificial and most dead baits will catch bluefish.  There is a 12 inch minimum length (to the fork) for bluefish, and if you plan to eat them, bleed them as soon as landed.
