Fall Mullet Run Begins

Anybody who has been looking to cast net finger mullet so far this month has not had to look far or throw the net much to get a full bait bucket. The fall mullet run normally beings this time of year and 2012 is starting out as a good one.

As the fall finger mullet start to show up everywhere inshore the predators that eat them are always close behind. One great technique for catching fish this time of year is to throw a mullet hooked through the nose into a large bait school. Using only a small amount of split shot weight, the mullet will fall bellow the main school and will often times be picked off by predators!

Now that the run has started, get out there and catch!
