Pompano, one of the most highly regarded table fare fish, are moving all around the Florida shorelines right now. They are highly migratory fish that travel north in the summer and south in the winter. Here are a few quick tips to help catch them.
Quick Pompano Tips
- Live Sandfleas are the undisputed best bait for Pompano
- Cut clams and pealed shrimp are both good baits if sandfleas are not available
- Pompano hunt in the though just behind wave breaks, cast into this area for the most success
- Use a 2 or 3 hook rig to increase your chances of finding the fish
